About
About Hempstalk
Portland's annual Hempstalk Festival in Portland, Oregon advocates decriminalization of marijuana for medicinal, industrial, and recreational use. Founded in 2005 by the Hemp and Cannabis Foundation, the festival takes place the weekend after Labor Day in September, and features food vendors, live music, guest speakers and information booths. This public event has always been free to attend.
According to Paul Stanford, founder and presenting sponsor of the event, "Hempstalk is about the many uses of agricultural hemp fiber, oil, protein, fuel and medicine. We are working to end adult cannabis prohibition, allow adults to grow their own and license the legal sale of psychoactive cannabis to adults. We believe that hemp will save the Earth's biosphere with the adoption of hemp seed for bio-diesel fuel, which will solve the energy and world hunger problems, and stop deforestation when hemp fiber is used for paper and building materials. We support the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act of 2012 to implement this. We shall overcome!"
Hempstalk 2012 Vending Information
We're looking for diverse, environmentally friendly, maybe organic/healthy, fun, and experienced vendors to add to our great event.
Vending space is sold by contacting a Hempstalk representative by phone or email and reserving your presence. To reserve by phone, please call (503)278-3653 and ask for Bill Appel, or email Urb Thrasher, our Vendor Coordinator, at vendor@hempstalk.org to begin the process. By following this link, you will be able to view which spaces are available and which spaces are sold (Hempstalk Vendor Gateway).
Booth spaces are $350 (*Premium $420), Food Booth spaces are $1000, Blanket Vending is $125 & Non-Profit Booth spaces are $100. A deposit of 50% will secure your booth reservation with the balance to be paid prior to set up. Due to a massive amount of inquiries and limited space involved, we now have a "committee jury" to finalize the remaining food spots. Please let us know by calling or emailing us that you are interested in food vending with us this year. We will let food vendors know by July 10th, allowing two months to plan and be prepared for the event.
Returning vendor month opens April 1, 2012. During that time, customers with Returning Vendor privileges are allowed to order the same booth/area(s) they had the year prior. The general public is not allowed to order spaces during this time. On May 1st, we open vending sales to the general public.
We can not allow you to vend without meeting these requirements.
